Over time, teeth can yellow and discolor. There are many components that can affect the shade of your teeth, including intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Some of these happen to be beyond your control.
Your teeth can become discolored through:
- Lifestyle Choices: Drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes can put a strain on the color of your teeth, making them turn brown or yellow.
- Certain Foods, Drinks, Medications: Sugary foods have been known to wreak havoc on the color of your teeth as they strip away precious enamel. Drinks, like tea, coffee, and soda, can also stain your teeth. Finally, medications, like tetracycline, can also affect the color of your teeth.
- Fluorosis: Fluorosis is a condition caused by overexposure to fluoride when your teeth were still developing. It has been known to leave splotchy stains along your teeth.
- Genetic Disposition: Some people’s DNA makes them more susceptible to teeth staining, yellowing, and discoloration.
No matter how your teeth arrived at their discolored shade, we can help with our teeth whitening services. At Arrowhead Foothills Dentistry, we offer two types of professional teeth whitening systems. Sinsational Smile is our in-office service while KöR Whitening is our take-home whitening kit. Either method of whitening should make your smile brighter and whiter than ever before!
Sinsational Smile is ideal for patients who are looking to quickly whiten their teeth. It typically takes only 20 minutes to make your teeth go from bland to brilliant! During your appointment, your dentist will outfit you with silicone mouth trays that are pre-filled with whitening gel. Once the trays are in your mouth, your dentist will turn on a specialized LED light that activates and stimulates the whitening gel. Just sit back and relax as you get the smile of your dreams. After your treatment, you should have a sparkling, white smile! You’ll also receive a take-home touch-up pen to help maintain your pearly white smile.
KöR Whitening is a convenient whitening system that allows you to whiten your teeth from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Your dentist will make molds of your mouth to create customized whitening trays. These ensure that the entirety of your smile gets whitened at home. You’ll need to keep this whitening system refrigerated in order to preserve it.
Now, you can have the smile you’ve always wanted with professional teeth whitening. Call our office to be one step closer to your dream smile. We look forward to working with you!
